Cummins IT Business Analyst

Cummins IT Business Analyst role provides support and assistance to IT team serving as a liaison between business and IT to translate strategic and tactical objectives into workable solutions.

Works on small projects or as a team member on larger information technology projects typically under direction of a more senior business analysts.

Help in identifying and implementing solutions, performing cost-benefit analyses and measuring results.

Provide skills in capturing analyzing and documenting business and end user requirements.

Assists in the preparation of the testing strategy and testing the execution plan.

Assists business and functional resources in the design of efficient business processes that fully leverage technical solutions being delivered or developed.

Documents requirements, completed work assignments, and changes to existing configurations.

Gathers, analyzes, and documents current practices, workflows, and business needs to identify efficiencies, alternatives, and gaps.

Analyses as a contributing member of the function in information technology capacity, vendor capabilities, and business processes to suggest improvements, propose automation, and streamline business intelligence and decision processes.

Assists with problem analysis.

As part of the team, ensures that technical functional specifications cover all business functional specifications.

Participates in ensuring positive relationships with other company functions involved in the design process.


Cummins IT Business Analyst Qualifications And Skills

Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring – Has a basic knowledge of business analysis activities

Requirement Elicitation – Precisely and consistently captures high level business problems and nonfunctional requirements.

Prioritises problems to surface the most critical needs.

Requirements Management and Communication – Properly prioritizes competing business demands. Assesses the risks of various solution options to different options.

Enterprise Analysis – Identify new business opportunities or solutions to business problems.

Requirement Analysis – Has a basic knowledge of prioritising requirements.

Solution Assessment & Validation – Has a basic knowledge of assessing a proposed solution and allocating requirements.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Information Technology, Business or a related subject required.

Experience of working in teams

Knowledge of service support processes as defined by ITIL or similar methodology.

Understanding of ERP systems and manufacturing processes.

Knowledge of Oracle eBusiness Suite (EBS) desired
